IMPORTANT NEWS FROM CBP! Effective January 1, 2019, all transport companies with “Section 321” shipments will be required to submit an electronic manifest before the truck arrives at CBP customs. As of November 26, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will implement secondary processing measures for transport companies who arrive at the border without having previously submitted their electronic manifest. As of January 1, 2019, a fine of $5,000 will be imposed on the first offense and fines of $10,000 will be imposed for subsequent offenses, for transport companies making no attempt to comply.
